The 1965 Omega Seamaster De Ville Ref. 166.020 is a refined example of mid 1960s Omega design, housed in a stainless steel case that blends the classic Seamaster line with the elegance that would later define the standalone De Ville collection. Its proportions remain versatile and timeless, making it an easy and comfortable wear for both modern and vintage collectors alike.
This particular example is especially notable for its very rare dial configuration, featuring the distinctive lower case font used for the words “De Ville” a detail seen only on a small subset of early dials. The silver sunburst dial is clean and well balanced, with applied indices, straight hands, and a neatly framed date window at 3 o’clock that enhances everyday practicality without interrupting the overall aesthetic.
Inside, the watch is powered by the reliable Omega Calibre 562 automatic movement, known for its durability and smooth performance. Paired with its original bracelet, this Seamaster De Ville stands out as a subtly unique and highly collectible variant of a classic Omega reference, distinguished by its rare typographical detail and enduring charm.
