The 1978 Omega Seamaster Quartz Ref. 196.0131 represents the clean, angular design language Omega embraced in the late 1970s. Its stainless steel case features sharp lines, integrated lugs, and a slim profile that sits comfortably on the wrist while still reflecting the futuristic styling of the quartz era. The proportions give it a balanced presence, making it a versatile everyday vintage piece.

Its dial continues this sleek aesthetic, finished in a refined silver tone with applied hour markers and matching baton hands that offer excellent legibility. A date window at 3 o’clock provides useful functionality, while the overall layout remains minimal and elegant. The crystal completes the look with a clear, unobtrusive view of the dial’s clean geometry.

Inside, the watch is powered by Omega’s Calibre 1342 quartz movement, known for its reliability and innovative push-setting system, a hallmark of Omega’s early quartz engineering. Paired with a comfortable bracelet, the Seamaster Ref. 196.0131 is a great example of late 70s Omega design, offering charm, precision, and understated style.
