The 1982 Omega Seamaster Quartz Ref. 196.0243 represents a refined evolution of Omega’s early 1980s Seamaster lineup, notable for its slightly larger 36mm case size, which gave it a more contemporary presence compared to many of its slimmer predecessors. The stainless steel case retains the clean, angular design language typical of the period, balancing everyday wearability with a quietly confident aesthetic.

The dial is classic and uncluttered, designed with clarity and legibility in mind. Applied hour markers and slim hands create a balanced layout, while the day-date window adds practical functionality without distracting from the overall symmetry. The proportions of the larger case allow the dial to breathe, giving the watch a more modern feel while remaining unmistakably vintage.

Powering the watch is a reliable Omega quartz movement, delivering the precision and low maintenance appeal that defined the era. Fitted on a quality leather strap, the Seamaster Ref. 196.0243 is an elegant yet versatile piece, appealing to collectors who appreciate understated design paired with Omega’s dependable quartz engineering.
