The 1985 Tag Heuer 2000 Ref. 972.606 is an early example of the iconic 2000 series, a line that helped define Tag Heuer’s sporty design language during the 1980s. This model is often referred to by collectors as the “Moondust” due to the distinctive texture of its dial, which gives the surface a subtle granular effect when viewed in the light. Its robust stainless steel case and classic dive watch styling reflect the brand’s focus on durable, everyday tool watches during this period.

The dial is the defining feature of this reference, with the rare moondust texture creating depth and character across the surface. Luminous hour markers and hands provide clear legibility, while the date window at 3 o’clock adds practical functionality. A unidirectional rotating bezel and strong case design reinforce the watch’s purposeful, sport oriented aesthetic.

This particular example is fully Heuer only branded, making it one of the very earliest versions of the Ref. 972.606 produced during the transitional period before the Tag Heuer branding became standard. These early Heuer signed models are significantly rarer and highly sought after by collectors, as they represent an important moment in the brand’s history and the beginning of the Tag Heuer era.

Very Good - Some noticeable signs of wear on the watch.

Fair - The watch is showing its age, lots of visible wear and tear.

Acceptable - The minimum level we will sell a watch at, It shows many marks and dinks but taking into account the age it is acceptable.

These conditions are of course our opinion and by including high quality photos of the watch from every angle you can come to your own assessment of what condition the watch is in.

Internal

Every single watch we sell will be fully functional internally. Of course the timekeeping of each watch will vary, but unless otherwise stated all of them will be within an accepted tolerance of +/-15 seconds per day. 

Delivery & Returns

All of our UK orders are sent through Royal Mails next day before 1pm delivery service. Orders placed before 2pm will be dispatched on the same day.

International orders will be sent using an express service but delivery times will vary. On average delivery will take between 7-14 days.

If for whatever reason you are not 100% satisfied, you can return the watch to us no questions asked and hassle free up to 14 days after.

Warranty

All watches are checked in-house and serviced/repaired when necessary. Every watch we sell comes with a 3 month warranty as standard.

**Warranty includes mechanical issues only and not accidental such as water or fall damage. Any issue that is included in the warranty will be repaired by us and then returned to the buyer completely free of charge**
